WEEKLY ARTIST FEATURE

Treva Jones is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and current resident of Houston, Texas for 34 years is a "hometown" favorite artist.  She is a gifted, anointed and powerful vocalist and has worked with several Houston writers and composers who frequently call on her to deliver their compositions though song such as writer/composer V. Michael McKay.  Treva received a great deal of her mentoring from the late Carl Preacher and over the years has gone on to minister with a number of artists and choirs such as Rev. Ronald Materre and the Inspirational voices of Praise, Women of Integrity, The voices of Hope and Houston Mass Choir of GMWA's Houston chapter.  In 2012, she was featured on CD releases of Ronnie Porter and Friends, Houston Mass Choir, Damien Price, Bernard Pierre and V. Michael McKay, 'God Talk: Sounds of a Sanctuary.'

 

To her credit, she has also participated in many venues in support of artists such as Marvin Sapp, Pattie LaBelle, Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell and the Stars and the National Gospel Music Heritage Month.  A proud mother of a wonderful son, Jeremy, and a member of the Church at Bethel's Family where Rev. Walter August, Jr. is Senior Pastor.
